Social Learning is a growing trend in 2019. As more and more collaboration tools become available, forums, chat sessions and sharing circles (to name a few) can become an important part of a hybrid learning solution.
Consider an on-line course that you might be involved in…perhaps it has many parts and is something that you will complete over a month’s time. Think about you and your fellow learners as classmates (in a virtual world)…we generally call this a co-hort. Now imagine that there is a closed Facebook group (for example) that you are all a part of – a place where you can share information and ask questions of each other. There may even be a subject matter expert assigned to the group to offer insights and direction as needed….this is an example of Social Learning – and it’s powerful!
Let me leave you to ponder this question, how can YOU incorporate Social Learning into your organization’s training programs?
