Creativity and a dedication to excellence are necessary for both.
Most people don’t know that in my youth, I was a competitive figure skater and while I aspired to reach the Olympic stage, alas I fell short, much to my disappointment. So when I had the opportunity to spend ONE day in Athens a couple of years ago, there was no question in my mind about what I would do with that precious time…I headed to the Panathenaic Stadium – site of the opening and closing ceremonies of the first modern Olympics in 1896.
Despite the searing heat of the day, I spent hours walking amongst the spirits of athletes that still linger in the space today. I sat and soaked in the atmosphere…I could hear the cheers of the crowds, dancing in my mind. And of course, I took the obligatory selfie, atop the podium placed there for just that reason.
It is figure skating that taught me my sometimes obsessive commitment to quality. It also gave me endless opportunities to tap into my creative self. And today, it is these two characteristics that afford me the ability to create really awesome learning experiences for others. If we work together to transition your organization’s employee or customer learning programs to online ones, you will get the dedication and creativity of an Olympic athlete…I promise you that.
Let’s meet up for tea soon! (Online of course.)
