What the heck is just-in-time training?
You have a workplace issue that requires immediate attention, and you need your employees to have access to the information they are looking for at an exact moment—how can you make that possible?
That is where just-in-time training (JIT) comes in!
Just-in-time training is excellent when there is content that will likely need to be available to learners on-demand, at the moment of a learner’s need. An Instructional Designer will identify the need for JIT training during the analysis phase, and we can create content as stand-alone training or as part of a more extensive training solution.
An example of just-in-time training could be a demo video on how to operate a piece of equipment or an e-learning module on preparing for an annual performance review. It might even be a YouTube video on how to navigate the new iPhone X with no home button (real life!).
JIT puts control back in the hand of employees. Rather than thinking, “I’m not sure, maybe I should wait for the next training class,” your workers might now act on, “Let me look that up, I have some info right here.” Also, JIT will help employees to retain information better as they will put it to use immediately instead of waiting for a time in the future to use their new-found knowledge.
